I know I'm committing heresy for posting glow stuff here...but so it goes!
I'm in the market for two for some trippy double staff debauchery. Do yall have any recommendations? I've checked out the FlowToys.com staff...The triple-light staff looks pretty sweet. I don't really like the Home Of Poi glow staff though...it's color transitions are a bit bland seeming to me.
I'm sure there are more options out there than the FlowToys and Home of Poi, but I don't know where to look. Any ideas?
Anybody have any favorites?

Re: Glow Staff Delight -- What's your choice?
Fri, March 13, 2009 - 3:45 PMFlow toys staff is the only one I've played with. The flow lights are one of the best systems I've run across on the market right now. The staff, however leaves a lot to be desired. It's smooth, transparent semi-flexible tubing. So it is light, has no grip, and is super bouncy. The tape has helped with contact, and once I got used to the bounciness of it I found I can do other kinds of tricks I couldn't with a fire staff. But it definitely takes an adjustment period.
I specify "on the market" because I saw a prototype of some of the brightest lights for poi I've ever seen, and the same guy is developing them into a staff. Because of the cost of the components, however, it's fairly pricey, I think around 250. But for someone wanting to make their living at it, it's really the best you can ask for. -

Sat, March 14, 2009 - 11:28 AMYou can ask Flowtoys for a clear tacky grip tape, I believe they have access to some for the Flowstaff. Right now the Flowstaff is probably the best way you can go .

Mon, March 16, 2009 - 10:22 AMTaz,
We have two kinds at Fire Mecca, both of which break-down into components. One is made of all translucent/transparent tubing and one is in our BlazeLink system, and has a metal center ("staff") adapter with LED end pieces.

Any specific criteria?
